Principal's Corner

Welcome all Trailblazer families!

Dear Marcus Whitman Community,

I am honored to officially welcome you to a new school year at Marcus Whitman Middle School. Over the summer, I had the privilege of meeting many of you during our virtual office hours and “Meet the Principal” sessions in June. From veteran educators and a proud retiree to those new to the profession and even a few students who stopped by to say hello, you reminded me that this is a school filled with dedicated, caring, and talented people.

Your warmth, honesty, and commitment left a lasting impression. You spoke with pride about what makes Marcus Whitman special and shared ideas for how we can grow together in the months ahead. I heard a strong desire to continue building a positive and connected school community, to provide clear and supportive systems for both students and staff, and to ensure every student has opportunities to contribute their voice and talents. Above all, I saw a team that works together with heart and determination.

As an educator, I have spent my career believing in the power of relationships, high standards, and student-centered learning. I come to Marcus Whitman excited to listen, learn, and work alongside you to ensure our school is a place where every student feels a sense of belonging and pride.

The year ahead is full of possibility. Together, we will strengthen our culture, support student success, and create a new chapter for Marcus Whitman that reflects excellence, joy, and shared achievement.

I look forward to meeting many more of you in person and beginning this important work side by side. Let’s make this a year to remember.

With gratitude and excitement,
Tara Ranzy,
