    Welcome NEW Marcus Trailblazers!

    Welcome to Marcus Whitman!  Nearly every week we have new students, and we are proud to have Marcus students welcoming new students well.  If YOU want to take an active part in welcoming our new Trailblazers during the school year, stop by the Guidance Office and complete an application to be a Student Guide Our student guides host the new person for a day and introduce them to others and their teachers.  They show the new person our school, from the STUDENT point of view.  We are grateful for these volunteers.

    PSAT 8/9 is coming to Marcus on October 10th.  It will be a late start Wednesday as usual, but we will test in groups according to Period 3 classes.  We will join more than 3.8 million students nationwide in PRACTICING this college admissions test.

    Seattle Childrens' Theater and Kaiser Permanente present at Marcus and begins a week focusing on an important discussion:  BULLYING, AGGRESSION AND SHAMING ON SOCIAL MEDIA!

    As part of a great program seeking to encourage healthy choices for young people, the Theater will present a play production to all three grade levels on TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 25th.  As some middle schoolers begin to socialize on electronic media, this is a timely focus for Marcus students.  It is also a time of their lives when they are making many decisions for themselves that involve forms of self control.  

    It is a great opportunity for families to discuss the worksheets, discussion and writings that are occurring schoolwide on this "hot topic" for young teens.

    How do I know how I am doing in classes?

    Go in to your Student or Family Access in Skyward (left hand grey button in the upper right of the SKSD or Marcus home pages).  Enter your ID and password and click on "gradebook".  Call the main or Guidance offices if you did not receive your ID/password by email.

    7th and 8th Graders Register NOW for College Bound Scholarships!

    At Parent Conferences, you may have had an application to this wonderful program stapled to your schedule.  It is open ONLY to 7th and 8th graders who declare that they are thinking of their future and the costs of training or education after graduation.
