Tara Ranzy Selected as Next Principal of Marcus Whitman Middle School

South Kitsap School District is pleased to announce Tara Ranzy as the next principal of Marcus Whitman Middle School. Ms. Ranzy brings more than 20 years of experience in education and a deep commitment to building inclusive school communities where all students are seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Throughout her career, Ms. Ranzy has served as a teacher, principal, administrator, and superintendent in both public and charter school systems. She has led with a focus on academic excellence, student voice, and a positive school culture. Her leadership is characterized by empathy, high expectations, and a strong belief in equity and belonging for all students.

“Tara Ranzy is a leader who listens, builds trust, and acts with purpose,” said Superintendent Tim Winter. “We are excited to welcome her to South Kitsap and confident she will be a tremendous asset to Marcus Whitman Middle School and our broader community.”

Ms. Ranzy will officially begin her role on July 1, 2025, as current principal Brian Carlson transitions to the district office to serve as Assistant Director of Teaching & Learning.
